The Next Generation One Health Philippines (NGOHP) participated at the Southeast Asia One Health University Network (SEAOHUN) 2022 International Conference, which was held last September 5-7, 2022, Grand Richmond Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.

With the theme “Catalyzing One Health Citizens of the Future,” the conference has four key tracks: (1) One Health Education, (2) Policy Gaps and Partnership Needs in One Health, (3) Lessons Learned from the COVID-19 Pandemic, and (4) Combating Antimicrobial Resistance Using the One Health Approach. NGOHP presented a poster about the project under the One Health Education category.
The conference was participated by approximately 200 delegates from SEAOHUN’s partner organizations, leading One Health experts, faculty, researchers, students, as well as government representatives and corporations working in areas related to One Health.

During the conference, the keynote speech was given by Dr. Dennis Carroll, a distinguished professor of Chulalongkorn University and Chair of the Leadership Board for the Global Virome Project. The conference was split into parallel sessions focusing on each of the key tracks where oral presenters shared their projects and findings. Plenary sessions were also held on both days, with topics such as “Innovation to Stop Future Pandemic”, “Catalyzing One Health Citizens of the Future”, and “Combating A Silent Pandemic: Antimicrobial Resistance”. The conference culminated with high hopes for new and exciting One Health collaborations across different sectors, disciplines, and countries all over the world.
