Next Generation One Health Philippines Participates in the 3rd Global Health Security Conference 2024 in Sydney
The Next Generation One Health Philippines (NGOHP), a project of the St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine – William H. Quasha Memorial (SLMCCM-WHQM) supported by the International Alliance Against Health Risks in Wildlife Trade, participated in the 3rd Global Health Security Conference. The conference was held last June 18-21, 2024 at the International Convention Center in Sydney.

Next Generation One Health Philippines attends the Planetary Health Summit and Annual Meeting 2024
The Next Generation One Health Philippines (NGOHP), a flagship program of the Planetary and Global Health Program (PGHP) of the St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine – William H. Quasha Memorial (SLMCCM-WHQM) and supported by the International Alliance Against Health Risks in Wildlife Trade, joined the world’s leading environmental and planetary health organizations in the Planetary Health Summit and Annual Meeting (PHAM) 2024. The conference was held last April 16-19, 2024 at Sunway University, one of Malaysia’s leading private universities based at Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur.

NGOHP Fellows Reconnect and Share Reflections on the Fellowship in Virtual Catch-Up
The Next Generation One Health Philippines (NGOHP) Fellows gathered last October 2, 2023, for an engaging virtual catch-up session. It was a time for celebration and reflection as fellows from various backgrounds and disciplines from all over the Philippines came together to share their professional milestones and personal growth. The event provided a platform for fellows to showcase their achievements, learn from one another, and build connections that would last a lifetime.

Next Generation One Health Philippines Participates in the 14th Annual CUGH Global Health Conference in Washington DC
The Next Generation One Health Philippines (NGOHP), a flagship program of the Planetary and Global Health Program (PGHP) of the St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine – William H. Next Generation One Health Philippines One Health Online Course Now Available to All Filipinos
The Next Generation One Health Philippines (NGOHP)Fellowship has made its One Health online course available on its website. The online course comprises six modules and is meant to be completed asynchronously, each tackling different perspectives on One Health ranging from the ecological links between wildlife and pandemics to the role of the social sciences.

Next Generation One Health Philippines Pilots its One Health Online Course
The fellows of the Next Generation One Health Philippines (NGOHP)Program participated in a six-week online introductory course on One Health on October to November 2022. The NGOHP is a flagship project of the Planetary and Global Health Program (PGHP) of the St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine – William H. Quasha Memorial (SLMCCM-WHQM) with support from the International Alliance against Health Risks in Wildlife Trade, which aims to enhance the domestic capacity of the Philippines for One Health transdisciplinary research and knowledge translation to effectively tackle wildlife trade and biodiversity loss as drivers of infectious disease emergence.

Next Generation One Health Philippines Participates in the 7th World One Health Congress in Singapore
The Next Generation One Health Philippines (NGOHP), together with the rest of the Planetary and Global Health Program (PGHP) of the St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine-William H. Quasha Memorial, participated in the 7th World One Health Congress, a five-day hybrid event held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore last November 7-11, 2022. In addition to the in-person attendance of the NGOHP core team, the 15 NGOHP fellows were also able to participate in the virtual sessions throughout the Congress.

Fifteen Next Generation One Health Philippines Fellows Announced
Fifteen emerging scholars and practitioners from different parts of the Philippines were selected for the Next Generation One Health Philippines (NGOHP) Fellowship. NGOHP is a project under the Planetary and Global Health Program of the St. Luke’s Medical Center – College of Medicine and is funded by the International Alliance against Health Risks in Wildlife Trade, a newly launched network led by the German Government through GIZ.

Entitled “Next Generation One Health Philippines,” the project aims to enhance the domestic capacity of the Philippines for One Health transdisciplinary research and knowledge translation to effectively tackle wildlife trade and biodiversity loss as drivers of infectious disease emergence, with the purpose of preventing future zoonotic spillovers in the next 50 years.
